Reading Agricultural Consultants has assisted AHDB Pork’s buildings and environment team in the production of a new information sheet on water supply for pigs.
Getting right the quantity and quality of drinking water for all livestock is important, but there are many opportunities to get better pig health and growth through simple changes to water systems.
Water supply is often at first overlooked when investigating production problems, but it is frequently a contributor to both health and production problems.
In the near future, the delivery of medication through water systems will mean that those systems will have to work properly to make sure that all animals are treated properly.
